Bathroom repairs
Not every bathroom needs ripping out. Quite often the room is sound and one thing in it has failed, and the honest answer is to fix that one thing.
We would rather fix it than sell you a new one
A company that only fits bathrooms has one answer to every question. We fit them and we repair them, so when we say a room is worth saving, that is because it is, and when we say it is not, we will show you why.
What we get called out for
A shower that leaks
Water arriving somewhere it should not. Usually the seal, the tray or the grout, sometimes the screen, occasionally the valve behind the wall. Finding which one it is comes first.
Silicone that has gone
The dark line round the bath or the tray. Silicone has a working life, and when it fails the water goes behind it rather than down the drain. Cut out, cleaned back, resealed properly.
Cracked or missing grout
Grout that has crazed, gone powdery or dropped out, and the tile that gives slightly when you press it. Left alone, this is how water gets into the wall behind.
Shower trays and screens
A tray that has flexed, cracked or started to leak at the edge, or a screen and door that no longer seal. Replacing a tray properly means lifting tiling around it, so it is worth doing once.
Tiling put right
Cracked, loose or missing tiles, and sections that were never bedded properly to begin with. Where a tile has been discontinued we will tell you before we start, not after.
One item swapped
A toilet, a basin, a bath panel or a shower valve replaced on its own, without touching the rest of the room. Small jobs are still jobs, and we do take them.
The part most people are not told
When a repair is the wrong answer
Sometimes fixing it is throwing good money after bad, and you deserve to hear that before you spend it rather than after.
The wall behind has gone
If water has been getting behind the tiles for a long time, the board behind them may have nothing left to hold a fixing. Regrouting the surface of that does not fix it, it hides it.
The tile no longer exists
If a tray has to come out and the surrounding tile was discontinued years ago, a repair leaves you with a patch that never quite matches. Better to know that at the start.
You were changing it anyway
If the room is coming out within a couple of years, money spent on it now is money you will take straight back out with a bolster. We will say so.

Questions we get asked
Do you take small jobs, or only full bathrooms?
Both. A lot of fitters will not turn out for one failed seal or a single cracked tile, and that is exactly why people end up living with it for two years. If it is a bathroom, we will come and look at it.
Can you tell me what is wrong over the phone?
Sometimes, and we will if we honestly can. A leak is the hard one, because the place the water appears is often nowhere near the place it got in. Send a photograph on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we think before anybody comes out.
How soon can somebody come?
It moves week to week, so rather than print a promise on a web page that might be wrong the day you read it, ring the office and we will tell you the real next slot.
What if the repair turns into a bigger job?
We stop, and we tell you what we have found and what your options are, before we carry on. Nothing extra goes ahead until you have said yes to it.
Do you stand behind a repair?
Ask us what we cover and for how long before we start, and we will write it down for you. A repair to somebody else's original work and a repair to our own are not the same thing, and it is fairer to say which is which up front.
Is it worth repairing an old bathroom at all?
Often, yes. A sound room with one failed component is worth fixing. A room where water has been getting behind the tiling for years usually is not, and we would rather tell you that than take the money.
